A ligkaribe Poem - Liberty
Liberty
every day,
a rushed trip around the world
never stopping,
never ending,
the days go on
walking stealthily by
as i’m preoccupied with nothing
And so it goes
stealing a piece of me every day
stealing my dreams and aspirations
i wait, and wait
longing for the day of my freedom,
hoping every day
for the day of my liberation
And so it moves forwards
painful, to look in the mirror
unfamiliar reflection
speaking to me
of lost hope and lost wishes
how painful the waiting
for that which does not come
how hopeless the anticipation
with no knowledge of when
and so it is
every day
i lose a piece of myself to despair
torn apart by care lessness
passed over on the side walk of life
on and on
every day
a step closer to my emancipation
