metro african ligkaribe

I’m a Bantu girl (likgaribe) of Setswana/ Sotho /Shona descent.. Having grown up in Bulawayo I also have a strong Ndebele heritage. Currently I live in Botswana but a part of me will always be Ndebele. I am of the Mmirwa tribe –, my totem is the Buffalo & just like the Buffalo I am very brave, protective, fierce and dangerous when provoked. I love learning about my African heritage, and that of other people, I believe if you stop learning as a person you might as well roll over and die.

A ligkaribe Spiritual Poem; I BREATHE

To attain happiness in our world
is rather like trying to pursue
a droplet of water
in the vastness of the ocean.

We hope to unify ourselves
with oneness,
oneness being the whole
that we seek to become,
And that whole is the
emptiness of oneness
the wholeness of all things
the wholeness of nothing.

I am an enlightened being;

I do not seek enlightenment;
I need only practice it
and seek to remove all
distractions to my practice,
I am perfect in my enlightenment,
whole and complete,
neither fearing nor unsure
of my wholeness,
Unlike the angel,
I am not perfect holiness,
nor pure spirit,
In my enlightenment
lies my divinity

In the midst of darkness,
I posses a shining spirit,
In the midst of pain and suffering,
I am joy and laughter,
In the midst of death,
I am life, I am breadth,
I am purity and perfection
These things exist
but they cannot touch me,
I am an over comer,
I am a healer,
I posses a strong heart,

I am the creator
and the created,
born of energy
forged to perfection
in the bosom of the cosmos
I am truth itself
and therefore I am free,
I have a direct line to the source
In all this perplexity,
I am enlightenment.

I am awake to my true nature,
the fire within me,
the pulsation of life
deep inside me
I am one with it,
why should I seek immortality,
when eternity is here and now,
I am eternity

What am I enlightened?
How am I enlightened?
Why am I enlightened?
Who am I enlightened?
How do I practice and live enlightenment?
What are the results and fruit of practice?
Why enlightenment, why everything, why life?

Don’t be afraid of enlightenment
for fear is the root of all pain,
the purveyor of destruction,
the destroyer of life.

Are you interested in enlightenment
do you want to posses a shining spirit and a strong heart?
Awake to your true nature
Awaken the unborn heart
the search begins here and now
the search begins deep within.
The truth is hidden inside of you
a treasure you have
jealously preserved for all
eternity.

PLEASE NO OPINIONS BY Madisonthestrange @ ALLPOETRY.COM

I LOVED THIS PIECE:

Calenders, palm pilots, and planners
tell us what to do and
clocks, timers, and bells
tell us when to do it.

Robotic life with
no meaning.
Please, no opinions
just go back to your cubicle.

The most change we see
is a mustard stain
on a yellow tie.

So LIVE already!
Dance like nobody is watching.
Sing like a bird in spring.
But most importantly,
Love like it's never gonna hurt.

Somewhere deep
inside yourself
you have...a personality!!!
You have spunk
You have humor
You have something unique
I promise

A ligkaribe Article - inspiration

AS I ALWAYS SAY THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A KOAN FOR GOOD LIVING - FEAST YOUR HEART OUT. BLESSED BE ALL THE BUDDHAS BE BLESSED, BLESSED BE ALL OF US, AS WE ARE ALL BUDDHAS.

“Since all men posses the unborn Buddha heart from their birth, you are not now seeking for the first time to follow it. If you perform your chores with all your might, you are practicing the unborn heart.”

“Think of what does not think. How do you think of what does not think? It is not thinking”

“What is this talk that goes beyond Buddha’s and patriarchs?”

“I drank up the Buddha’s and patriarchs – all the mountains and rivers without my mouth”

“After I break through a solid gate clear wind blows from time immemorial”

“it is like the water buffalos passing through a window lattice,
Its head, horns, and four hooves have all passed through,
Why can’t its tail pass through?”

“Is there a truth that has not been preached to men?
This is not mind, this is not Buddha, this is not a thing”

“Where are you going?
To where there is no change
How can you go where there is no change?
My going is no change”

“I heard about the cow with no nostrils
and suddenly the universe is my home
Yonam mountain lies flat under the road,
A farmer at the end of his work is singing”

The real within the apparent
“A sleepy eyed grandma
Encounters herself in an old mirror
Clearly she sees a face,
But it doesn’t resemble hers at all
Too bad, with a muddled head
She tries to recognize her reflection”

The apparent within the real
“in the third watch of the night
Before the moon appears,
No wonder when we meet
There is no recognition!
Still cherished in my heart
is the beauty of earlier days”

The coming from within the real
“within nothingness there is a path
Leading away from the dusts of the world.
Even if you observe the taboo
Of the present emperor’s name
You will surpass that eloquent one of yore
Who silenced every tongue”

“The body is the Bodhi (enlightenment) tree
The mind is like a clear mirror
At all times we must wipe it clean
And must not let the dust collect”

“bhodi originally has no tree
The mirror also has no stand
Bhudha nature is always clean and pure
Where can dust alight”
